Pitino responds to Calipari: 'I don't live in a glass house'

It took six days, but Rick Pitino has finally offered his response to John Calipari's comments about college coaches knowing what goes on around their campus.

Appearing on Mike Lupica's radio show, the Kentucky coach made the statement that "if it happens on your campus and it happens with your assistants and those people, you probably have a good idea what's going on." While he failed to mention Pitino and Louisville by name, most people immediately made the connection between his comments and the sex escort scandal that rocked the program last season.

Pitino, whose Cardinals team self-imposed a postseason ban last season, has maintained his innocence throughout the process, and responded on Monday.

"Whether it's Duke last month of us this month, these type of comments - we're here to build up the image of college basketball, not tear people down," the veteran coach told Terry Meiners of AM840 in Louisville, referencing Calipari's negative comments about the Blue Devils' recruiting. "I don't live in a glass house and I don't throw stones."

Pitino also noted that ACC coaches have an agreement not to comment negatively on each other's programs, and said the issue may be brought up sometime this summer with Calipari.

"I don't have time to figure out what he did or didn't mean," the two-time national champion said. "If our paths cross this summer, I'll ask him."
