Despite his second surgery in just over a month Monday, Mike Krzyzewski has no intention of stepping aside from the Duke program anytime soon.

Following hernia surgery performed at Duke Hospital, the legendary coach made it clear to athletic director Kevin White he remains committed to the Blue Devils' sideline.

"Mike has a five-year contract in place and his intention is to honor that contract at a minimum," White told Laura Keeley and Andrew Carter from the News Observer. "Given his unparalleled passion for leadership and the sport of basketball it would not surprise me at all if Mike coaches beyond his current contract. To be sure, and I've said this many times, we have the greatest coach at any level and in any sport representing Duke University."

The surgery was the latest in a year filled with heath issues for the 69-year-old Krzyzewski. He missed Duke's Feb. 2 game at Georgia Tech due to a stay at the campus hospital's heart wing. At the completion of the program's season, Krzyzewski had his left knee replaced. He previously had hip replacement surgery in 1999 and 2002.

The recovery time from hernia surgery is four weeks, which should see Krzyzewski fully recovered in time to lead the USA Men's Basketball team in the 2016 Rio Olympics come August. He will follow that up with his 37th season with Duke, and will front a team likely to be in the preseason top three.

Considering his teams have won 20-plus games for the last 20 years, the five-time national champion's plans should make Duke fans very happy.
