Western Kentucky adds Providence's Junior Lomomba as graduate transfer

Steven Branscombe-USA TODAY Sports

Western Kentucky added some backcourt depth Monday, as Providence guard Junior Lomomba told CBS Sports he's committed to the school as a graduate transfer for 2016, according to Jon Rothstein of WFAN.

Lomomba was a key bench piece for the Friars in 2015-16, scoring 5.3 points and adding 2.5 rebounds in 24 minutes of action per game. The 6-foot-5 Canadian's transfer is one of the first moves made by Hilltoppers head coach Rick Stansbury, who took the job just over a month ago.

With the team's second-leading scorer Aaron Cosby moving on due to graduation, Lomomba's addition could be huge for Western Kentucky, who return a number of other key pieces next season.

As per NCAA regulations, Lomomba will be eligible immediately as a graduate transfer.
