Oakland has signed head coach Greg Kampe to a three-year contract extension that will keep him with the Golden Grizzlies through the 2019-20 season, the program announced Monday.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. His current arrangement, which was set to expire in May 2017, paid him about $275,000 per year.

"Greg has done a great job with our transition into the Horizon League and his team met some important milestones in the classroom, in the community and on the court," said athletic director Jeff Konya. "I appreciate my working relationship with Greg and like the direction our basketball program is heading in terms of our athletics culture and ethos. He is a virtual institution at this university and his results speak for themselves."

Kampe has held his post for 32 seasons and owns the third-longest tenure of any head coach in Division I, behind only Syracuse's Jim Boeheim and Duke's Mike Krzyzewski.

The 60-year-old has a 558-415 career mark, and could put a player in the NBA for the third time with guard Kahlil Felder.

"I'm grateful that the University would extend my contract," Kampe said. "It comes at a time that we have really been able to expand the Oakland basketball brand nationally, having played on national television 12 times this year. The future of Oakland basketball and this program looks promising in all areas, not just winning on the court."

Kampe's 558 wins ranks 18th among active Divison I coaches.
