NCAA Game Summary - Siena at Iona

New Rochelle, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Tre Bowman scored 25 points as the Iona Gaels dispensed with the Siena Saints, 88-74, in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference action at the Hynes Athletic Center.

Bowman converted 5-of-9 shots behind the 3-point line and also pulled down six rebounds for the Gaels (9-8, 6-2 MAAC) as they won for the third time in the last four outings. Isaiah Williams pitched in with 20 points and another six boards, followed by Sean Armand and David Laury with 11 and 10 points, respectively.

The Saints (7-12, 3-5) were paced by Evan Hymes who dropped in 23 points, while Lavon Long registered a double-double with 16 points and a game-high 11 rebounds, but he shot only 4-of-12 from the floor on the afternoon. Marquis Wright chipped in with 12 points, eight boards and a game-high eight assists, but still Siena lost for the third time in as many games.

Both teams shot the ball well from the floor in the first half, but even with 53.3 percent accuracy the Saints found themselves trailing by eight at the break, 46-38. Of Iona's 18 field goals through the first 20 minutes, half came from 3-point range.

The Gaels went from attempting 21 3-pointers in the first half to only six following intermission, resulting in a stronger 57.1 percent accuracy from the field overall, en route to the double-digit win.

The Saints controlled the glass, 46-27, coming up with 21 rebounds at the offensive end of the floor, but that mattered little as Iona hit on 13-of-27 shots behind the 3-point line.
