NCAA Game Summary - Loyola Marymount at Santa Clara

Santa Clara, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - Jared Brownridge scored a career-high 29 points as the Santa Clara Broncos defeated the Loyola Marymount Lions in overtime, 86-81, in a West Coast Conference tilt at the Leavey Center.

Brandon Clark scored 26 points and handed out four assists for the Broncos (9-8, 2-2 WCC) as they posted their second win in three games. Evan Roquemore added 10 points while John McArthur brought down eight rebounds.

Anthony Ireland scored a career-high 34 points with seven assists for the Lions (10-6, 2-2). Ben Dickinson added 12 points and five rebounds while Evan Payne and CJ Blackwell both scored 10 points, followed by Alex Osborne cleared a game-high 10 rebounds and blocked three shots in the team's second straight setback..

LMU shot 50 percent from the floor in the fist half but missed all three attempts from 3-point range. Santa Clara converted 46.7 percent from the field while making 5-of-14 from beyond the arc. The two teams were tied at 35 after the first stanza.

The Broncos shot a poor 34.5 percent from the field but made 4-of-10 from 3- point range in the second half. The Lions knocked down 50 percent of their field goal attempts but missed both 3-point attempts. With 12 seconds left Ireland made a shot to tie the game at 70. Roquemore missed a field goal attempt as time expired, sending the game to overtime.

Santa Clara started the overtime period by scoring the first seven points. The Broncos made 11-of-12 at the free-throw line to secure the victory.

The hosts were outscored in the paint, 54-26, but countered by producing a 24-13 scoring edge at the free-throw line and holding the Lions to 0-of-7 on the perimeter.
