NBA Draft Profile: Marquis Teague
Marquis Teague - PG - 6'2, 180 lbs.
Kentucky

Teague has decent size, good strength, good speed and good athleticism for the point guard position, and shouldn't struggle with any of those strengths at the NBA level.
He is at his best when running an up-tempo offence and leading fast breaks, as his ability to push the ball up court is an asset. Another positive for the Kentucky lead guard is that he saved his best and most reliable basketball for the biggest games, as he excelled for the Wildcats in March and through the NCAA tournament.
There are some glaring holes in Teague's game, however, as the 19-year-old still struggles in a half-court offence, which could make his transition to the NBA a difficult one, and was inconsistent overall in his one season of college ball. He also needs to improve his shooting before taking the next step as a point guard.
ESPN's Chad Ford wrote that Teague's "decision-making skills improved all season, but they are still not NBA-caliber."
Teague showed enough in his one year at Kentucky to be a first round draft pick in a weak point guard class, but he didn't show enough to be a Lottery pick.
