Derrick Rose returns after 2-game absence

Dennis Wierzbicki / USA TODAY Sports

After missing the last two games due to a left elbow contusion, Chicago Bulls point guard Derrick Rose returned to the lineup in Tuesday's clash with the Memphis Grizzlies.

Rose has rediscovered his shooting stroke since the All-Star break, and is averaging 18.2 points and 4.6 assists per game while shooting 48.2 percent from the field and 41.9 percent from deep.

Chicago, however, might still be without two key defensive stalwarts. Taj Gibson is doubtful with a rib injury and E'Twaun Moore is a game-time decision due to a hamstring issue.

Heading into Tuesday's games, the Bulls sit two games out of eighth with five games left in their season. If Chicago is to make a last-gasp push to leap one of the Detroit Pistons or Indiana Pacers, they'll need to take care of business against banged-up teams like the Grizzlies.
