Coach Byron Scott acknowledged Monday that Young is "not here [with the team] mentally" and would likely be deactivated for the Lakers' final six games of the season, Mike Bresnahan of the Los Angeles Times reports.

Analysis:

Young had already dropped out of the team's rotation in early March and hasn't played in the Lakers' last 11 games. He was expected to take a backseat to the team's younger players down the stretch as Scott looked to assess his backcourt options heading into 2015-16, and that plan only looks more ironclad after teammate D'Angelo Russell's secret video recording of Young discussing his infidelity became public last week. Young doesn't appear to be a part of the Lakers' future plans due to his off-court baggage and his declining numbers, as he finished the season with career-low marks in points per game (7.3), three-point percentage (32.5%) and field-goal percentage (33.9%).
