Paul George: Aaron Gordon 'got robbed' in 2016 dunk contest

Minnesota Timberwolves guard Zach LaVine left the Air Canada Centre during All-Star Saturday Night with a second straight Slam Dunk contest win in February. While his performance ranks up there with some of the greatest in the competition's history, many believe Aaron Gordon - who took LaVine to the limit in a dunk-off for the ages - should've walked away with the hardware.

One player riding the Team Gordon bandwagon is Indiana Pacers All-Star Paul George, who believes the Arizona product's originality should've been rewarded with the win.

"I thought he got robbed," George said prior to Indiana's game against the Orlando Magic on Thursday, according to the Orlando Sentinal's Josh Robbins.

"In today's day and age, everything's been seen in the dunk contest, and when you see stuff that nobody's done, you've got to reward that. Not discrediting everything Zach did - Zach did a phenomenal job - but you've seen those dunks before. In what today's dunk contest is, it's all based on creativity. You've got to give it to the guy that's been the most creative."

George is a two-time participant of the Slam Dunk contest, losing in both 2012 and 2014.
