DeMarcus Cousins (foot) said late Wednesday evening that he would not play Saturday against the Nuggets, Sean Cunningham of KXTV Sacramento reports.

Cousins (foot) said after Wednesday's win over the Wizards that he would sit out Saturday against the Nuggets, Sean Cunningham of ABC 10 Sacramento (KXTV) reports.

Analysis:

Cousins steamrolled the Wizards on Wednesday, tallying 29 points (11-18 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 6-9 FT), 10 boards, five steals, four assists, and four blocks in 32 minutes, but he also picked up his 16th technical foul of the season in the process. Assuming the technical is upheld, Cousins will be forced to miss Friday's game against the Heat, and it sounds as though the Kings are planning on extending his rest through the weekend, as he's scheduled to sit out the second half of the back-to-back set. The Kings seemingly have little to play for at this point, so resting their star center might be the right move, despite the frustrating implications for fantasy owners. Expect rookie Willie-Cauley Stein and veteran Kosta Koufos to take on elevated roles over the next two games while Cousins sits.
