Butler said Saturday that he doesn't expect to undergo surgery on his left knee during the offseason, Nick Friedell of ESPN.com reports.

Analysis:

Butler hinted at the possibility of surgery a day earlier, but seemed to change his tune after meeting with reporters Saturday, as he appeared confident that an extended stretch of rest may be all he needs to get healthy again. The swingman missed significant time shortly before and after the All-Star break with a knee strain, and has seen his production tail off a bit since returning. In his last seven games, Butler is averaging 14.6 points (on 38% shooting), 5.9 assists, 4.1 rebounds, and two steals over 34 minutes.
