Butler could be set to undergo surgery on his left knee during the offseason, the Chicago Sun-Times reports. "Maybe. I hope not," Butler said. "Is my knee the same as it was before the injury? No."

Analysis:

Butler went on to admit that he doesn't feel like he's the same player since the injury, but he conceded that winning is "all [he's] worried about" at this point. The All-Star has struggled mightily since returning, averaging just 15.8 points and 5.0 rebounds while shooting 39 percent from the field. Prior to the injury, Butler was averaging 22.4 points on 46 percent shooting. Offseason surgery is certainly not a guarantee, but it's something Butler and the Bulls will have to consider, and a decision could come as early as next month if Chicago fails to make the playoffs.
