Davis (knee, shoulder), who was shut down for the season Sunday, says he's been playing with a torn labrum for three years, and ruled himself out for this summer's Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. He's slated to undergo surgeries on his left knee and left shoulder and will face a four-to-five month recovery timetable, ESPN.com's Justin Verrier reports.

Analysis:

Davis is scheduled to undergo operations in the near future, meaning his offseason will largely be consumed by rehabbing both ailments. Incredibly, and somewhat worryingly, Davis says his shoulder injury initially occurred during his rookie season, making that procedure long overdue for the 23-year-old. The estimated timetable will unfortunately force Davis out of the Olympics, and furthermore, the big man can't commit to being fully healthy by the time training camp rolls around next season. Given that murky outlook ahead of two operations, it'll certainly be worthwhile to monitor Davis' progress in the coming months and in advance of the 2016-17 campaign.
