Ryan Anderson: Out Sunday with groin injury

Anderson has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Clippers with strains in both his left and right groins, John Reid of the New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.

Analysis:

Anderson entered the day looking like an excellent DFS play with teammate Anthony Davis (knee, shoulder) ruled out, but it wasn't known he was actually dealing with health issues of his own. Details on Anderson's setback are still scarce, but his absence will leave the Pelicans woefully thin in the frontcourt Sunday, though the team is expected to get Alexis Ajinca (sternum) back from an extended hiatus. It seems likely that coach Alvin Gentry could be forced to turn to Dante Cunningham to log substantial minutes at power forward Sunday, but assuming Anderson isn't forced to miss significant time, he'll make for an appealing fantasy play down the stretch. Gentry announced prior to Sunday's game that Davis would be shut down for the season, and Anderson figures to absorb most of Davis' minutes and usage when he recovers from his injuries.
