Anthony Davis: Ruled out for Sunday

Davis (knee, shoulder) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Clippers, John Reid of the New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.

Analysis:

After reports surfaced earlier Saturday that the Pelicans coaching staff was mulling over the possibility of shutting Davis down for the remainder of the season, it was all but certain the All-Star would miss at least Sunday's matchup. He left Friday's game against the Trail Blazers in the first half after suffering a left knee injury, and it has since been reported that Davis is also dealing with a shoulder ailment. His next chance to return will come Tuesday agains the Heat, although he should be considered questionable at best for that game as of right now. Alexis Ajinca (chest) could return Sunday, which would help fill the some of the void left by Davis' absence in the frontcourt.
