Conley remains out indefinitely for badly banged-up Grizzlies

For a team comfortably hanging on to fifth place in the Western Conference, things are getting rough in the Memphis Grizzlies' injury ward.

Starting point guard Mike Conley remains out indefinitely with a sore Achilles, an issue that has already cost him the last two games. This comes as the team was forced to cut Mario Chalmers Thursday after the reserve guard suffered a season-ending Achilles injury of his own.

The Grizzlies signed point guard Briante Weber to a 10-day contract Friday, and the VCU product may be forced to start against the New Orleans Pelicans.

Conley has seen a slight dip in his production this season, and is shooting a career-low 42.2 percent from the floor. Still, he remains a key cog for Memphis, ranking second on the team in scoring and first in assists. The 28-year-old is due to become an unrestricted free agent this summer.
