LeBron was willing to slide to power forward to land Joe Johnson

LeBron James was willing to go all out to land February's hottest free agent.

The 12-time All-Star told Cavaliers management that he would readily slide to power forward to accommodate Joe Johnson after the 34-year-old was bought out by the Brooklyn Nets last month, Chris Haynes of cleveland.com reports, citing sources.

"All I care about is winning. That's all that matters to me," James confirmed to Haynes. "A piece like Joe, you know what it does to your team and if he was concerned about playing time or concerned about starting, then I'll sacrifice. I'll sacrifice to get a guy like that to help us try to win a championship."

While Cleveland sits first in the Eastern Conference, its season has not been without turmoil, having fired head coach David Blatt in January amid speculation that James wanted him gone.

Although still a favorite to reach the NBA Finals, the Cavaliers currently have just an eight percent chance of winning the title (according to ESPN's BPI) and could've used the seven-time All-Star to strengthen their chances of taking down a team like the Golden State Warriors or San Antonio Spurs.

"I mean, you're trying to make a push. We're in March. You get a guy like Joe Johnson, you get a guy that can change your team for the better. I wouldn't have a problem with (moving to the four)," James said.

Having lost in the Finals in back-to-back years, it appears James would do almost anything to collect a third ring.

"Man listen, I'll do anything to win. I'll kidnap my momma to win," he deadpanned.
