VIDEO: Nance Jr. pays tribute to father with 'cradle' dunk after the whistle

However, that didn't stop Larry Nance Jr. from putting his impressive basketball genes on display Sunday afternoon.

After the play was whistled dead, the Los Angeles Lakers rookie used an empty runway to complete a dunk which many hardcore hoop heads will remember from his father's performance at the 1984 Slam Dunk Contest.

Like father, like son.
