Amar'e Stoudemire bloodied after taking Jerami Grant elbow to the head

Things got a little chippy in the first quarter between the Miami Heat and Philadelphia 76ers Friday night.

With power forward Amar'e Stoudemire dominating inside, turning back the clock with eight points in the first four minutes, Sixers forward Jerami Grant looked to thwart one of his drives to the hoop.

Grant took a huge swipe at the ball, but instead caught Stoudemire with an elbow to the forehead, leaving him gashed and bloody.

Stoudemire, who made the layup anyway, stayed in to shoot the additional free throw after getting toweled off. He then returned to the locker room for evaluation.

The cut didn't require stitches, and he returned to the Heat bench.
