Afflalo suggested after Sunday's 98-81 loss to the Heat that he missed the game due to a knee issue rather than a thigh contusion, Marc Berman of the New York Post reports.

Analysis:

It was initially reported that Afflalo first suffered the thigh contusion in last Wednesday's loss to the Pacers, but he played through the injury Friday against the Magic before sitting out Sunday. Based on Afflalo's comments, it doesn't sound like the Knicks were being particularly forthcoming with their injury report, but his knee issue still isn't believed to be especially concerning just yet. Afflalo mentioned that he's set to undergo an MRI this week, which should help provide more clarification on the nature of his injury along with his availability for Tuesday's tilt with the Trail Blazers.
