Joe Johnson has signed with the Heat and is expected join the team for Sunday's game against the Knicks, Jason Leiser of the Palm Beach Post reports.

Johnson signed with the Heat on Saturday and is expected join the team for Sunday's game against the Knicks, Jason Leiser of the Palm Beach Post reports.

Analysis:

After Johnson was waived by the Nets on Thursday, the veteran wing was almost immediately believed to be a target for the injury-depleted Heat. Johnson officially cleared waivers earlier Saturday and will now give the Heat some depth on the wing, though it's unclear if he'll come off the bench or displace Justise Winslow as the starting small forward. The Heat could require Johnson to practice for a day before using him in a game, so though he'll connect with the team in time for Sunday's contest, there's a possibility he might not play.
