Andre Miller clears waivers, reportedly agrees to sign with Spurs
Veteran point guard Andre Miller cleared waivers on Saturday after reaching a contract buyout with the Minnesota Timberwolves earlier in the week.
Miller has agreed to sign with the San Antonio Spurs for the remainder of the season, league sources told The Vertical's Shams Charania.
Since his buyout was completed prior to March 1, Miller will be able to dress for San Antonio during their postseason run.
Currently in his 17th season, Miller, 39, averaged 3.4 points and 2.2 assists in 26 appearances for the Timberwolves coming off the bench.
He ranks ninth all time in total assists with 8,495, with career averages of 12.6 points and 6.6 assists since going eighth overall to the Cleveland Cavaliers in the 1999 draft.
Tony Parker and Patty Mills will still see the bulk of minutes running the Spurs' offense, with Miller and Ray McCallum likely splitting time as third-stringers.
Adding Miller will also boost the average age of what's already the oldest roster in basketball at 30.8 years.
