Bargnani was waived by the Nets on Saturday, Mike Mazzeo of ESPN New York reports.

Analysis:

The Nets were trying to ship Bargnani out at the trade deadline but found no suitors, so they'll now opt to let the veteran go for nothing. In 46 games this season with the Nets, Bargnani averaged 6.6 points, 2.1 rebounds and 0.4 assists over 14 minutes. As one of the league's softer big men on the defensive end, Bargnani's value to a team was previously tied to his ability to stretch the floor as a three-point shooter, but even that skill may no longer be a part of his repertoire. He's hit just 18.8 percent of his attempts from downtown on the season.
