The Cleveland Cavaliers have an open roster spot with Joe Johnson's name on it. It's just up to Johnson to leave Brooklyn behind.

The Cavaliers would be the leading candidate for Johnson should he secure a buyout with the Nets, reports Chris Haynes of Cleveland.com.

Johnson is in the final year of a six-year, $124-million contract that's mercifully run its course with the Nets. Johnson made it known to the Nets what it would take to buy him out, and it's up to the team to decide if they want to meet that price.

As for Johnson, he's fine either way, Haynes reports.

Johnson, a seven-time all-star, is averaging 11.5 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 4.1 assists while shooting 37.1 percent from deep. He has the size to guard three positions (although he lacks the quickness to stick on the wing), but he's more than capable to fit into the Cavaliers' thin wing rotation.

Johnson would have to be added to the Cavaliers before March 1 in order to be playoff eligible.
