The San Antonio Spurs have emerged as the favorite to sign Kevin Martin if the Minnesota Timberwolves shooting guard is bought out, ESPN's Marc Stein reports.

Martin will need to be bought out by March 1 to be playoff-eligible.

The 32-year-old is currently buried in the Timberwolves' rotation and hasn't played more than 15 minutes in a game since Jan. 17.

Martin is averaging 10.6 points and 2.1 rebounds in 21.4 minutes. However, the 11-year-veteran has struggled with efficiency this season, shooting a career-low 37.7 percent from the field.

The Spurs are currently without backup shooting guard Manu Ginobili for the foreseeable future, and could be looking to add Martin to bolster their guard depth.
