Tobias Harris: Expects to debut Friday

Harris (ankle) expects to play Friday when the Pistons resume play against the Wizards, Keith Langlois of Pistons.com reports.

Analysis:

After missing the Magic's last three games leading up to the All-Star break with a sore ankle, Harris was dealt to the Pistons on Tuesday in exchange for Ersan Ilyasova and Brandon Jennings. He's apparently moved past the ailment during the break, and assuming he doesn't suffer some sort of setback before Friday, he's expected to be on the court with his new team. It's unclear what kind of minutes load Harris will be looking at from the outset, but he eventually figures to assume the starting spot at power forward vacated by Ilyasova. Coach Stan Van Gundy said Wednesday that at least initially, Harris likely won't start right away, noting that he'll come off the bench "probably for the first three games at least." Harris is capable of playing both forward spots, as can Marcus Morris and Anthony Tolliver, so coach Stan Van Gundy may opt to use the three somewhat interchangeably.
