Report: Wolves have had no trade talks yet regarding Ricky Rubio

Raj Mehta-USA TODAY Sports

While the Minnesota Timberwolves have had no trade discussions regarding point guard Ricky Rubio, that may change in the offseason, according to The Vertical's Adrian Wojnarowski.

Rubio has been mentioned as a trade candidate for more than a year now, but he said last summer he wanted to remain in Minnesota. The Spaniard is only 25 years old, but is already the second-longest uninterrupted-serving Wolves player. After missing 60 games in 2014-15 with a severe ankle injury, Rubio is averaging 9.7 points and 8.6 assists per contest.

Despite his shortcomings as a shooter, Rubio's contract can be viewed quite favorably with the NBA salary cap set to spike this summer. He is signed through 2019, with an average salary of $13.75 million per season.
