The Los Angeles Clippers have traded Lance Stephenson to the Memphis Grizzlies for Jeff Green, the Clippers confirmed Thursday night.

Memphis will also receive a 2019 first-round protected pick in the deal.

Green gives the Clippers another option to slot in at power forward in the continued absence of Blake Griffin. The 6-foot-9 Green has spent most of the year split between forward spots and profiles as an athletic big who could conceivably stretch the floor alongside DeAndre Jordan.

That being said, Green has hit just 30.9 percent from deep this season and is shooting 43.1 percent from the field.

The Grizzlies, meanwhile, end up with the disgruntled Stephenson, who had mostly fallen out of favor in Doc Rivers' rotation. He's averaging 4.7 points and 2.5 rebounds in 15.8 minutes per game.

Stephenson carries a $9.4-million player option for 2016-17, while Green is slated to become an unrestricted free agent.

The Grizzlies rank fifth in the West, while the Clippers sit in fourth place. They're separated by four games.
