Marc Gasol: Likely out 4-6 months

Gasol (foot) is expected to miss four-to-six months, according to the Spanish site Marca.

Analysis:

While the Grizzlies have yet to issue an official update on Gasol's status following his diagnosis of a right mid-foot fracture, the Spanish report intimates that Gasol will miss the remainder of the 2015-16 season, and his status for the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio may also be in jeopardy. In Gasol's absence, Zach Randolph figures to assume most of the minutes at the center spot along with more modest contributions from Ryan Hollins and Jarell Martin, and Brandan Wright (knee) will also provide some needed relief at the position when he returns, which could be as soon as immediately following the All-Star break. Gasol's injury could also prompt the Grizzlies to reevaluate their roster and potentially make a move or two as the trade deadline approaches.
