Coach Fred Hoiberg said that Mirotic (appendectomy) will get his stitches out Wednesday, but the forward remains on a week-to-week recovery timeline, K.C. Johnson of the Chicago Tribune reports.

Analysis:

Hoiberg indicated that Mirotic is still in a lot of pain following his late-January appendectomy and is starting to regain strength again after losing 15 pounds. The fact that the Bulls are viewing Mirotic as week-to-week more than day-to-day suggests that the 24-year-old isn't on track to return immediately after the All-Star break, and his absence could even stretch out to March. The likes of Taj Gibson and Bobby Portis will remain entrenched in important roles in the Bulls' rotation until Mirotic is able to return and steal some playing time from them.
