Jimmer Fredette drops 35, grabs D-League All-Star MVP

Kim Klement-USA TODAY Sports

The legend of Jimmer Fredette won't go away, as evidenced at Saturday's D-League All-Star Game in Toronto.

The former NBA first-round pick scored 35 points on 13-of-19 shooting - including a 50 percent clip from deep - in the East's 128-124 victory over the West. The Westchester Knicks guard added eight assists and six rebounds in the win.

His 35 points is a record performance at the 10-year old event, and chants of "Jimmer, Jimmer" even rained down on the 26-year-old late in the contest.

Fredette joined the New York Knicks' D-League affiliate on Nov. 28, nine days after being waived by the New Orleans Pelicans. The BYU legend played for three teams over parts of the last five seasons, unable to stick in the NBA despite an uncanny shooting ability.
