Jimmy Butler: Out 3-4 weeks with strained left knee

Butler (knee) was ruled out for three-to-four weeks following a reexamination Tuesday.

Analysis:

Though Butler missed a second consecutive game Monday against the Hornets due to the strained left knee, he had reportedly been feeling better in recent days despite quite a bit of soreness, so this news of a multiple-week return timetable comes as a huge disappointment. The injury will force Butler to miss the upcoming NBA All-Star Game and keep him sidelined through at least early March, leaving the Bulls in quite a bind while they attempt to solidify positioning in the standings in a competitive Eastern Conference. In Butler's extended absence, expect Tony Snell, E'Twaun Moore, Doug McDermott, and Mike Dunleavy to be the main beneficiaries of both added minutes and enhanced fantasy value, though none profile as must-add options outside of very deep formats.
