Pierce isn't dealing with an injury, but the Clippers will simply take advantage of a soft spot in the schedule to get the veteran an extra off day. Wesley Johnson will start at small forward in Pierce's place Monday, and it's likely Pierce will return to availability Wednesday in Boston as the Clippers finish out their pre-All-Star break schedule.
