Tyreke Evans out until after All-Star break with knee tendinitis

New Orleans Pelicans guard Tyreke Evans will be be shut down until after the All-Star break, the team announced Saturday.

Evans is currently battling knee tendinitis, an injury that's caused him to miss the Pelicans' last five contests.

The Memphis product already missed time earlier this season after undergoing knee surgery in October.

In 25 games this season, the 26-year-old is averaging a career-low 15.2 points per game, to go along with 6.6 assists and 5.2 rebounds.

Losers of three straight, New Orleans faces a tough contest Saturday when they take on the East-leading Cleveland Cavaliers.
