John Wall earns 1st triple-double of season in win over 76ers
A matchup with the lowly Philadelphia 76ers on Friday night provided All-Star point guard John Wall of the Washington Wizards with the perfect opportunity to end his triple-double drought.
In 33 minutes of action, Wall scored 18 points on 7-of-13 shooting, grabbed 13 rebounds, and handed out 10 assists as the Wizards walked away with a 106-94 win at Verizon Center.
It was Wall's first triple-double of the season, fourth of his career, and first since 2013-14.
His final assist of the game, which clinched his triple-double, came on a beautiful alley-oop lob to teammate Bradley Beal.
The Wizards, who didn't trail at any point in the game, have now won seven of their last eight meetings with the 76ers.
Philadelphia (7-43) suffered its fourth straight defeat, while Washington improved to 22-26.
