"Ain't nobody doing it with blocks!"
The Miami Heat defeated the Charlotte Hornets 98-95 on Friday evening behind Hassan Whiteside's third triple-double of the season.
Coming off the bench for just the third time this season, Whiteside made the most of his limited playing time, collecting 10 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 blocks in just 27 minutes.
Date | Opponent | Points | Rebounds | Blocks |
---|---|---|---|---|
11/17/2015 | Timberwolves | 22 | 14 | 10 |
1/15/2016 | Nuggets | 19 | 17 | 11 |
2/5/2016 | Hornets | 10 | 10 | 10 |
The 26-year-old has put up impressive counting statistics this season, averaging 12.3 points, 11.1 rebounds, and 3.9 blocks. However, Whiteside's infatuation with blocks has come at a cost. The Heat give up two fewer points per 100 possessions when the big man sits.
The victory brings Miami's record to 29-22 - just a half-game back of third place in the East.
