Nelson (wrist) will not play Friday against the Bulls and could miss additional contests, the Denver Post reports.

Analysis:

Nelson is battling a sprained left wrist, which has kept him out of the Nuggets' previous two games. The veteran admitted that he tried to play through the issue, but the discomfort was simply too limiting. "I didn't feel like I could help the team," Nelson said. "And if I'm not helping the team, I'm hurting it. So I just felt like it was better for me to sit down." Nelson has officially been ruled out for Friday's game, and the Denver Post's report intimates that he's a "longshot at best" to play Sunday in New York or Monday in Brooklyn. Nelson will undergo an MRI on the wrist, with an update expected to come in the next few days. "I'm just waiting on some things to get resolved to see what's next, what's best for it and how we approach the next step," Nelson said. "I'm always going to be honest with Coach, the organization and the training staff. I just told them I was hurting. For whatever reason, before the game I was hurting in Indiana, so I tried to play through it. I've played through injuries before. I've dealt with pain."
