On The Runway: Aaron Gordon takes a seat in midair

Zach LaVine successfully defended his title as Slam Dunk champion Saturday night, but really, he should have tied with Aaron Gordon.

In fact, Gordon might have actually thrown down the best dunk of the night when he took a seat in midair for the second of three straight perfect 50s.

Here's the setup.

First, Gordon gathered himself on the edge of the paint. After a four-step run-up, Gordon explodes off his left foot to begin his ascent.

Like a skateboarder racing off the turn, Gordon catches maximum air to somehow get his entire body over the Magic's mascot. He gets to a point where his head is nearly level with the rim, and his whole lower body is above Stuff the Magic Dragon.

Finally, after transferring the ball underneath his legs, Gordon somehow still has enough hang time to swing it over his head and put down a one-handed reverse.

Here is the dunk in live action.

The two contestants forced two extra rounds, trading 50 after 50, before LaVine finally outlasted Gordon in the fourth round.
