With Kevin Durant facing his hometown team on Monday, Russell Westbrook wanted to make his case as to why Durant should stay in Oklahoma City.

Westbrook submitted yet another excellent all-around effort with 17 points, 12 rebounds, and 11 assists in 35 minutes for his seventh triple-double of the season, helping the Thunder to a 114-98 victory over the Washington Wizards.

In a battle between two of the league's marquee floor generals, it was Westbrook who thoroughly outplayed his counterpart in John Wall. To be fair, Wall had fewer weapons to play with, but his eight assists were mostly nullified by his horrendous six-turnover showing. Wall also missed 10 of his 17 field-goal attempts.

Westbrook, meanwhile, had five turnovers of his own but shot an efficient 8-of-13 from the floor, and was a plus-14 to Wall's minus-15.

The other two members of the Thunder's Big Three also stepped up. Serge Ibaka put up 19 points, 10 rebounds, and two blocks on 8-of-12 shooting, while Durant led all scorers with 28 points, and added nine rebounds.

Oklahoma City has now won 10 of its past 11 games, while Washington has dropped six of its last eight.
