Utah's Lyles replaces Mirotic in Rising Stars Challenge

Utah Jazz rookie Trey Lyles has been named an injury replacement for All-Star weekend's Rising Stars Challenge, replacing Chicago Bulls sophomore Nikola Mirotic on the World Team.

The Saskatoon-born big man will give the World Team a third Canadian player in front of the Toronto crowd, joining original selections Andrew Wiggins and Dwight Powell.

Lyles, the 12th overall pick in last June's draft, is averaging 4.7 points and four rebounds in just over 18 minutes per game for the Jazz, who are in the thick of the Western Conference playoff race. The 20-year-old Kentucky product has earned 23 minutes per game over his last 30 contests, however, as Quin Snyder's team was forced to turn to Lyles with injuries decimating Utah's frontcourt.

Mirotic, last year's Rookie of the Year runner-up, will be sidelined until after the All-Star break following an appendectomy.
