Melo, Porzingis return to action for Knicks against Suns

Adam Hunger-USA TODAY Sports

Both Carmelo Anthony and Kristaps Porzingis were back on the floor for the New York Knicks on Friday against the Phoenix Suns.

Anthony sat out the last two games with left knee soreness, sounding some alarm bells around Gotham after he underwent season-ending surgery on a tendon in that knee last year. The forward told reporters it was mainly precautionary. "I don't want to come back and deal with a back-to-back situation," Anthony said Thursday.

Porzingis missed the first game of his NBA career Thursday in Toronto, sidelined with an upper respiratory infection. The Knicks were without point guard Jose Calderon, who missed his second straight game with a groin issue.
