Howard (ankle) remains doubtful to play Monday against the Pelicans, Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Analysis:

Howard sprained his left ankle early in Wednesday's loss to Detroit, and he's missed both of the Rockets' last two games. At this point, it seems likely that he'll remain out until at least Wednesday's game against the Spurs, but the Rockets will likely wait until later in the afternoon before reaching a conclusion on Howard's status for Monday. In Howard's absence, the Rockets have been using Clint Capela at center, with Trevor Ariza and Corey Brewer forming a small-ball forward tandem.
