With fan voting for the 2016 NBA All-Star Game coming to an end Monday evening, the Toronto Raptors' world-renowned global ambassador has stepped out of the shadows to give a ringing endorsement to the two most important players on the team.

Canadian rapper Drake spotlighted Kyle Lowry and DeMar DeRozan in a pair of #NBAVote Instagram posts on Sunday morning in an attempt to rally more votes for one of the highest-scoring backcourt tandems in the league.

Lowry, who was named a starter for the Eastern Conference last year following a late surge, should benefit the most from Drake's support. The latest returns had the 29-year-old (367,472) trailing Cleveland Cavaliers point guard Kyrie Irving (399,757) by roughly 33,000 votes, while Dwyane Wade of the Miami Heat holds a commanding lead among guards with 736,732 votes.

DeRozan sits sixth with 262,683.

Unfortunately for fans north of the border pulling for Lowry to start on Feb. 14 at Air Canada Centre, Drake's Instagram votes can only do so much good, as "likes" and comments from any of his 18 million followers won't count as valid votes themselves.

Could a late tweet from Champagne Papi be on the horizon?
