Report: Pelicans shopping Anderson, Gordon, Evans

Many expected the New Orleans Pelicans to contend following a 45-win campaign, but they've failed to make the leap, and now they may be looking to sell.

Names like Ryan Anderson, Eric Gordon, and Tyreke Evans have been discussed in trade talks, Yahoo's Marc Spears reports, although no move is imminent.

Anderson, who's in the final year of an expiring deal, has been mentioned in trade rumors for the better part of a month. The Phoenix Suns have reportedly discussed a swap of Anderson for disgruntled forward Markieff Morris.

The 27-year-old Anderson is one of the best stretch-fours in the league and a prolific sixth man. He's averaging 16.7 points per game while connecting on 37.2 percent of his 3-point tries.

Gordon's also on the final year of his contract, earning $15 million. Once considered one of the league's best up-and-coming shooting guards, injuries have undercut his effectiveness. He's averaging 15.3 points, 2.2 rebounds, and 2.7 assists per game while shooting 41.3 percent from the floor and 37.5 percent from deep.

Evans is the only one of the three who has a contract for next season, as he's owed $10.5 million for the current campaign and $10.2 million for 2016-17. He had arthroscopic surgery on his right knee in the offseason and has appeared in only 20 games this year, averaging 15.9 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 6.7 assists on 38 percent shooting from beyond the arc.

After a 45-win season that saw the Pelicans clinch their first playoff berth since Chris Paul left town, New Orleans sits on the outside looking in with a record of 12-26 near the midway mark of the season.
