Report: Milwaukee Bucks among teams interested in Kevin Martin

Minnesota Timberwolves shooting guard Kevin Martin's name has reportedly been surfacing in trade talks for the last month, with Martin missing a number of games as a healthy scratch, and you can apparently add the Milwaukee Bucks to his list of suitors.

The Bucks are among the teams interested in trading for Martin, reports ESPN's Darren Wolfson.

A career 38.5 percent 3-point shooter, Martin would be a natural fit for the Bucks, who currently sit 27th in the league in threes made per game (5.9). Stephen Curry makes almost that many by himself (4.6).

If Martin did land in Milwaukee, it would likely be a move that general manager John Hammond made with an eye to the future. The Bucks sit 13th in the Eastern Conference at 16-24, and Martin alone probably wouldn't be enough to push them back into playoff contention.

The 32-year-old is owed $7.3 million in 2016-17, affordable given the league's rising cap. Milwaukee has just $52 million in salaries committed for next season.

With Khris Middleton as Milwaukee's starting shooting guard, Martin could fill in as the team's sixth man. O.J. Mayo currently holds that role, but his poor shooting and unpredictable on-court behavior have made it difficult to play the USC alumnus for meaningful stretches.

Martin's recent injury history could deter the Bucks from making the trade, but given that the Ohio native fits their biggest need, they could overlook the issue in order to have him in a Bucks uniform.
