Report: Grizzlies to sign D-League guard Williams to 10-day deal
The Memphis Grizzlies will reportedly sign Santa Cruz Warriors guard Elliot Williams from the D-League to a 10-day contract, according to Marc Spears of Yahoo Sports.
To make room for Williams on the roster, Memphis will reportedly cut center Ryan Hollins.
Williams leads the D-League in scoring, averaging 28.1 points to go along with 7.1 rebounds and 5.8 assists.
The 26-year-old was drafted 22nd overall by the Portland Trail Blazers in the 2010. He played 13 games in the NBA in 2014-15, split between the Utah Jazz and New Orleans Pelicans.
The 10-day contract window officially opened on Jan. 5, allowing teams to offer a maximum of two 10-day deals to a player before having to decide to commit to a player for the rest of the season on a third contract.
Memphis is currently sixth in the Western Conference with a record of 19-18.
