Jazz's Gobert returns from knee injury vs. Rockets

Russ Isabella / USA TODAY Sports

The French Rejection is back.

Rudy Gobert will come off the bench on a minutes restriction for the Utah Jazz in Thursday's game against the Houston Rockets. The center has been out since early December with an MCL sprain.

Gobert resumed working out with the team recently, and has reportedly looked good in practice and shootaround.

Getting Gobert back, to put it mildly, would be huge for the Jazz. The team is still missing their other frontcourt anchor in Derrick Favors, who's been sidelined for seven games with a back issue, and didn't make the trip to Houston.

Gobert is Utah's leading rebounder and shot blocker, and a defensive presence they need back as they cling to the eighth spot in the Western Conference. The Jazz are currently a bottom-half squad in defensive rating, per NBA stats.
