If you believed the experts, the Dallas Mavericks were supposed to fall out of the top eight in the Western Conference this season. Well, it's January and the Mavs are holding their own in the five-spot.

They got a dramatic double-overtime win Tuesday over the Sacramento Kings on a buzzer-beater by Deron Williams, of all people, causing a celebratory pile just off the Kings' bench.

Mavs owner Mark Cuban didn't hesitate to join the fray.
