VIDEO: Pacers-Pistons game ends with George-Morris scuffle

Don't get your basketball shorts in a bunch - this wasn't Malice at the Palace 2.0.

However, extracurricular activity did occur at Bankers Life Fieldhouse as the final buzzer sounded during Saturday's head-to-head between the Indiana Pacers and Detroit Pistons.

The primary participants: Paul George and Marcus Morris.

Just prior to the clock expiring in the Pacers' 94-82 victory, George went for the steal on Morris. With the game essentially wrapped, Morris took exception to the seemingly unnecessary swipe.

Both benches cleared, with the referees and coaches from each team attempting to break up the fracas.

Just moments before this occurrence, in a separate episode, Pistons head coach Stan Van Gundy was ejected from the game - his first dismissal in his brief tenure with the franchise - as the fiery bench boss appeared displeased with an apparent George push-off on Kentavious Caldwell-Pope with roughly 25 seconds left in the contest.

Although the infamous brawl between the two teams is now more than a decade old, netizens couldn't help but draw a few parallels.

Thankfully, this incident never got nearly as out-of-control as the skirmish in 2004.

Still, expect it to be reviewed by the league office.
